ANTI-TOBACCO WEEK CELEBRATION

May 31 is observed as WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY. As part of this, students of Arab Unity School observed the last week of May (26th-30th) as anti-tobacco week. Poster making competition on ‘Say No to Tobacco’, creative writing competition on ‘Tobacco Free World’ were conducted in the secondary section. Year 10 student council members organized awareness session to junior classes on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second hand smoke exposure. It also aimed at discouraging the use of E-cigarettes by youngsters and to discourage the use of E-cigarettes by youngsters.
Posters were displayed in the assembly ground with a strong message to the community to curb the use of tobacco. Essays on the health hazards of tobacco usage, request letters to relatives or friends to quit smoking and chewing tobacco were the highlights of the event.
